oPPORTUNITIES

Communities, organizations, and research teams:
We are always excited to partner with new teams to expand the scope of community-led polar bear research and monitoring. We are not currently able to lead additional work, but are available to provide support to groups looking to start projects. We are also open to collaborating with research teams to answer questions about polar bear ecology depending on support from partner organizations in the region of interest.
Please feel free to reach out with any ideas.

Graduate students:
Currently there are openings on our team for potential MSc, PhD, and undergraduate projects in Mushkegowuk and Foxe Basin regions. Projects are developed with and guided by communities so topics could be wide ranging, from polar bear diet to demographics. Graduate students are expected to apply for external funding which will be supplemented by project-specific funding. As a team of graduate students ourselves, we strongly believe in paying the next generation of scientists an appropriate living wage and funding options can be discussed.
Please have a look at our projects page and reach out to chat more.
